It's Been So Long!

Wow, it's been so long since I've been here! Shame on me! Will try to do better as soon as I remember how to do everything here. In the meantime, if you visit I hope you enjoy. I have managed to add a few more photos. Probably won't be saying much about the Broncos this season because I really don't like talking about things I know are going to depress me. For now I will just say Happy Fall you all!

Flowers May through July

A Mother's Day bouquet from Shannon, Daniel, and Taylor began my very flowery season.

This bouquet lasted for two weeks and changed on a daily basis. Very beautiful and enjoyable.

Roses Everywhere

With all the rain we have had this year my roses are beautiful and plentiful. The wild rose in our backyard has taken over the entire corner.

Pick a color you like and take a gentle sniff. Enjoy.

The Catfish in a Tutu

We decided to move our aquarium. While taking the fish out so we could empty it, our big silver catfish got tangled in the net. A couple of fins got stuck so completely that we had to cut the net to get him free. To avoid hurting him, we had to leave some of the net attached. Now he looks like he's wearing a tutu. He seems happy enough with his new outfit, though.

For all who were worried, the tutu came off after about four weeks and Mr. Catfish is fine.

Fall and Football

This is my favorite time of year. The leaves are changing color and falling, there is a cool breeze outside, and the BRONCOS are winning! Let's hope the streak continues, and they save us from any more nail-biting finishes.

I hope everyone enjoys these first two pictures taken at game 5 against the Buccaneers. The gorgeous gals and handsome young man are my cousins Rita Baker, Carol and Cheryl Meanea, and Cheryl's son Chance.

My cousin Cliff Gamble, waving at us, has a job any of us would love--working security at Mile High!!

Soon the holidays will be here and everyone is going to go into overdrive. Let's all try to stress and plan less and spend more fun time with our families.

Summer 2008

Adam, Erica, and the kids came out from Alabama to visit for a week this June. Since Shannon, Daniel, and Taylor live in Los Alamos, we had quite a crowd. I think the expression is, "The more, the merrier!" Yes, I'm old and gray and still have fibromyalgia, but all that family would make anyone feel better. I'm hoping that next year we can have all the kids and all the grandkids here. I haven't seen Quinton in several years, and I've never seen baby Braydon. For those who missed out, here are a few of our pictures from the gathering just to whet your whistles:

To our delectable delight, we discovered that Adam has turned out to be quite the kitchen commando. After sampling a few of his feasts, I've decided that when he gets out of the army, he needs to go to culinary school to fine-tune his already prodigious cooking skills. Keep one eye on the TV, folks. Before long he'll be The Next Food Network Star.

Carrie's Site

This is Carrie's site. She can do whatever she wants in it. She can post pictures of the pets, brag about the grandkids (check out the slideshow), bitch about life with fibromyalgia, or give daily progress reports on the parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme. If we're lucky, we may get the lowdown on epileptic dogs, neurotic cats, and suicidal fish. Or one of her famous recipes destined to be enshrined in The Big Book of Eats.

This was supposed to be for Xmas, but since Adam just set up a website too (and upstaged my surprise, ya creep!!), let's shoot for Thanksgiving instead.

Don't get too attached to the look of her site. This is just an initial setup, and she can change anything or everything about it to suit herself. Whenever she wants.

So, for those lucky individuals who have been invited to come visit Carrie, welcome to Carrie's Own Corner.
